Hourly Financial Advice

You have one decision in front of you and you want a straight answer from someone who has no product to sell you.

You do not need a financial planner. You need an answer.

Some people want someone in their corner for the next thirty years. Some people want forty minutes and a clear head about one thing.

  • You handle your own money and you are good at it — but this particular decision is outside what you have had to learn so far.
  • You have already Googled it. You found nine answers and four of them were written by someone trying to sell you something.
  • You have a deadline. Open enrollment closes, the offer expires, the closing date is set.
  • You do not want to be handed off, upsold, or put into a funnel. You want the question answered.

You are paying for time and judgment. Not for a relationship you did not ask for.

What people actually bring to an hour

Real questions, in the words people use when they ask them.

“I have a 401(k) sitting at a job I left two years ago.”

What the options are, what each one costs you, and what the tax treatment looks like for each.

“My employer changed plans and I have to pick investments by Friday.”

What the menu is actually offering, what the fees inside it are, and how to read it.

“Somebody is trying to sell me an annuity and I cannot tell if it is any good.”

What it does, what it costs, what it pays the person selling it, and what questions to ask them.

“We found a house. Can we actually afford it?”

What the payment does to your cash flow, and what it costs you everywhere else in your life.

“I have five debts and no idea which one to attack first.”

How to order them, what the math says, and what the math does not account for.

“My offer letter has equity in it and I do not understand what I am being given.”

What the grant actually is, when it becomes yours, and what happens to it if you leave.

If your question is not on this list, that is not a problem. Bring it to the discovery call and we will tell you honestly whether an hour will solve it.

How the clock works

No retainer. No package. No account minimum. You pay for the time you use.

Hourly rate

$120

per hour, assessed in 10-minute blocks

10 min · $20 20 min · $40 30 min · $60 40 min · $80 50 min · $100 60 min · $120

If your question takes twenty minutes, you are charged for twenty minutes.

Time is assessed in whole 10-minute blocks, rounded up. The smallest engagement is one block — ten minutes, $20. Nothing is billed before we meet.

If the work continues after the call

The clock runs while we are on the phone. That is usually the whole engagement.

Some questions cannot be finished inside the call — a policy illustration that has to be read line by line, two plan documents that have to be compared, numbers that have to be run. That work is billed at the same $120 per hour in the same 10-minute blocks, and it appears on your invoice itemized, so you can see exactly what was done and how long it took.

Nothing outside the call gets billed without your go-ahead first. You will always know before the meter runs.

How it goes

1

A free 30-minute discovery call

You tell us the question. We tell you whether an hour of our time will actually answer it, or whether you are asking something bigger than an hour. This call costs nothing and there is no obligation on either side.

2

You send what is relevant

The plan document, the statement, the offer letter, the policy illustration. Whatever the decision hinges on. This is what keeps the meeting short — and a short meeting is a cheaper meeting.

3

We meet

By video, or in person if you are local. The clock starts when we start and stops when we stop.

4

You get it in writing

A written recap of what we covered, what was recommended, and what to do next. You should not have to remember a conversation to act on it.

What an hour is, and what it is not

Being clear about this up front is how nobody ends up disappointed.

It is not ongoing management

Nobody is watching your accounts between meetings. When the hour ends, the engagement ends. If something changes in six months, you book another hour.

It is not a financial plan

A financial plan is a different product entirely — built over weeks, covering risk, debt, cash flow, and investments together as one connected system, and delivered as a document you keep. An hour answers a question. It does not produce a plan.

We do not execute it for you

We tell you what we would do and why. You are the one who logs in, makes the election, signs the form, or places the trade.

It does not put you on a list

No drip campaign, no quarterly check-in you did not ask for, no follow-up call to see if you have reconsidered. You paid for an hour. You got an hour.

If an hour is genuinely the wrong tool for what you are facing, we will tell you that on the free call — before you have paid us anything.

Two different doors

They are not the same service at two prices. They solve different problems.

Hourly advice

One decision, answered. You keep running your own money. You come back when you have another question, or you never come back at all.

$120 per hour, assessed in 10-minute blocks.

The other door

A financial plan

Your risks, your debt, your cash flow, and your investments handled together as one connected system — built over weeks, written down, and adjusted as your life changes.

For people who want someone alongside them, not just on call.

The Paraclete Studio is the software built for our own clients, and it is open to anyone. Plenty of people find that once they can see the numbers clearly, they already know the answer — and the ones who do not, arrive at their hour with a much better question.

Software, not advice. Using it does not create an advisory relationship.

Questions people ask before they book

What if my question only takes fifteen minutes?

Then you are charged for twenty — two 10-minute blocks, $40. Time is assessed in whole blocks and rounded up. We are not going to invent reasons to keep you on the call longer.

Is there a minimum?

One block. Ten minutes, $20. That is the smallest engagement there is — a two-minute question is still billed as ten minutes, so we would rather you bring a real one.

There is no account minimum, though. We do not care what your balance is.

Could I get billed for work after the call ends?

Only if you tell us to do it. If your question needs work outside the meeting, we will tell you what it is and roughly how long it will take, and you decide. It is billed at the same rate in the same blocks and itemized on the invoice. No surprise line items.

Do I have to become an ongoing client afterward?

No. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to decline. Most people who book an hour book exactly one hour, and that is a completely normal outcome.

What if it turns out I need more than an hour?

You will hear that on the free discovery call, before you have spent anything. Some questions are bigger than an hour, and pretending otherwise would waste your money and your time.

Are you paid anything by anyone else for what you tell me?

Not on hourly advice. No commissions, no referral fees, no revenue sharing on investments. If a conversation ever moves toward life or disability insurance, that is a separate transaction, it is compensated by commission from the carrier, and it will be disclosed to you plainly at the time — the same as it is disclosed in our Form ADV.

Do we have to meet in person?

Most hourly meetings happen by video. If you are in the Pensacola area and would rather meet face to face, we come to you. There is no office to drive to.

Bring us the question.

The first call is thirty minutes, costs nothing, and ends with an honest answer about whether we can help.
